just a heads-up that i will be testing some updates this evening.. the nature of the changes means it's difficult to test every scenario in advance offline (translation: it's a lot more effort and i just can't be bothered) so i'm going to go with the "wing-it" approach:.

deploy, check for errors, try to fix errors before anyone else notices them.. i can switch between the new and old version pretty quickly so if there are significant issues, i'll rollback and revert the changes while i work on the fixes.

worse case is the pages won't display quite right (dates might be a giveaway) but a full page refresh should fix things.. http://www.refreshyourcache.com/en/home/.

Some of us have evolved and no longer see things as when we were new here and much younger.

Any chance I could have all my posts older than 3 yrs permanently deleted?!

Today's W.T on GB not being inspired is having ZERO impact on most J.W's

the congregation i attend had it's watchtower study on thursday night because of l.d.c work this week-end, and another congregation i have some not very spiritual friends in had their watchtower study on wednesday.

from what i have delicately prised out of people, the congregations loved the watchtower study this week, saying it was so encouraging and all the usual stuff, with no-one seeming to realise the g.b.

said they're not inspired, so the spirit int he past has moved them to teach wrong things, and all the other ideas excellently summed up on reddit.. today's watchtower will wash over the heads of most j.w's like it never even happened, the all remaining as loyal as ever, and it makes me so, so sad..

I can palpate that the old people are plain tired and the young are very indifferent.

The young are furthering their education, participating in school's extracurricular activities and mingling with non-JWs. The old are supporting their kids in obtaining a worthy education and not frowning as much on situations previously frowned upon by the WTBTS.

We as a community are tight and super clicky, but when it comes to hardcore doctrinal bull, we're all sick of the doomsday crap.

The internet has put a hurting on this org. GOOD!!!

Do you feel that you are really YOU?

i am interested in finding out how you view yourself.

are really you when it comes to every day interactions....ie when at work, with family or friends, or if attending meetings?.

if still attending, do you feel you are not the real you at meetings?

I am ME when I go to work. Otherwise, around family and other JWs, I'm 60% genuine. It needs to be so in order to keep peace and keep the family/friends dynamic going. You see, my close circle of family and friends are heavy into WTBTS stuff and I cannot afford financially, emotionally to be put out of the group. Sad, but true.

So many of us inside in my safe boat. However, having been my whole life JW-indoctrinated, I don't think I can exit and then go on to line up with today's opinions that "anything goes" and "as long as you're not hurting anyone else..."

Just can't. So, I've accepted this situation and have resolved to continue it for the duration. It's sooo complicated!

Good. I'm glad this is getting attention. It'll help these imperfect men come to realize that it's imperative for them to turn all accusations to the local legal authorities.

One of those mistakes that they need to finally correct. The Catholic church had their moment with this, now the JWs and other closed-up orgs must face the same music.

Correctly! One clear effect of deep indoctrination.

Having stated that, any logical/intelligent person clearly understands that other organizations are bound to make mistakes, always, as they're all under the control of most imperfect humans.

This is why many have jumped shipped because of this Org's imperfections. Well... surprise! Same mistakes in any other org of any kind as long being led by other imperfect people.

So, accentuate, concentrate, enjoy the good, the positive. Or... join any other org and be prepared for when these and many other mistakes hit you in the face again.
